The Flow of Awakening

The flow of awakening - an online practice weekend

The Buddhas teaching points to something profound, but it is also pragmatic - describing the conditions and practice that lead to the path of liberation becoming an irreversible process within us. A milestone known as ‘stream entry’; a possibility to take seriously, especially in times like these.

A core part of this process is the practice of the 4 ‘establishings of Mindfulness’, establishing in our experience the very awareness and inquiry that liberates the heart. What we practice, we become, so continuity and momentum are important, and it can be helpful to relate to meditation practice in this way. As Mahatma Gandhi said, ‘take care of the means, the end will take care of itself.’

So during this online weekend, we seize the opportunity to practice continuously but easefully in the context of our home life - the situation where much of our path is walked. Embracing and understanding the challenges we encounter in these settings, is an important part of the journey.
