Practising Emptiness - From Not-Self to the Emptiness of All Things (online series)

Insight into the emptiness of self and of phenomena is a powerful vehicle for liberation on the Buddhist path.

Over this nine week course we explores a gradually deepening pathway of practice. Through cultivating subtlety of view, developing meditative sensitivity and skilful technique we can begin to understand experientially both these aspects of emptiness.
The qualities of acceptance and allowing form an initial meditative basis for our practice. Gradually, we turn to the anattā way of looking, gently relaxing identification with the aggregates — the levels of experience usually taken to be “me” or “mine.”

From this point we turn to see the world of experience as inseparable from the aggregates themselves, and to open into their emptiness, and by extension the emptiness of all things. This realisation invites a profound freedom, radiating from the nature of things.

The course follow the Ways of Looking and Emptiness framework presented in Rob Burbea’s book Seeing that Frees.
