In this retreat we use the meditation practice of asking an inner question “what is this” as an anchor to cultivate calm and clarity, while practicing inner listening as a way to develop receptivity and wise compassion. This practice can support the cultivation of an appropriate response.
We follow the traditional Korean Seon (Zen) form of sitting and walking together in the hall. This involves practice blocks of 30 minutes sitting,10 minutes walking and 30 minutes sitting. There are also daily meditation instructions and talks, as well as a movement practice. Because of the layout of the hall for this retreat, retreatants are asked to do the sitting meditation in an upright posture - on a chair or on a mat.
All are welcome to explore these profound practices with us. |
