The Buddha taught that we suffer when we meet our experience with craving and aversion. In life or in meditation, we pursue the pleasant and we resist the unpleasant. For many of us, our struggles with the unpleasant dominate our experience both in our meditation practice and in our lives.
It can seem counter-intuitive to allow and include what we experience as unpleasant, and yet when we meet difficult experiences with sensitivity and awareness, we can learn to release contractions in body, heart and mind. In doing so we find greater freedom and ease.
This day includes meditation instructions, periods of sitting and walking meditation, as well as a Dharma talk. There are also opportunities to ask questions. |
